Now that the temperature feels more like spring than winter, a lot of us are thinking about sprucing up our lawns. I went out this weekend looking for new plants for the garden in front of my house. It reminded me that there are a few common places where insects like roaches and scorpions like to hide.

Railroad ties and pavers are a great way to create a garden, but they are also favorite spots for roaches. Roaches like to be in tight spaces, with something above, under and next to them. If you create a garden with this type of material, just remember to have the outside of your home sprayed on a regular basis. Nothing can ruin a garden more than lots of unwanted pests.
